María Daniel, the 2024 Community Impact Award Recipient for Dance Education, is a National Dance Foundation Partner and creator of the copyrighted Hip Hop Experience (HHE) Dance Class and Curriculum, featured on CBS and NBC. As Founder and Artistic Director of iDance Ministry (dba iDance Experience), she serves culturally and economically diverse dancers through impactful dance education and mentorship throughout New Jersey and New York City. HHE explores the potential therapeutic qualities of Hip Hop Dance and María has conducted innovative research in this area. With decades of experience as a dancer, choreographer, educator, author, and attorney, María has earned five mayoral proclamations. She received a 2023 NJ Senate and Assembly Joint Resolution for her meritorious record of service, leadership, and commitment as a dance educator who leverages the creative arts to improve life in the community. Certified to teach Hip Hop Dance to youth with special needs, she promotes equitable access to dance while also coordinating National Dance Week programs and workshops. Her accolades include the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Volunteer Service Award, the Professional Woman of the Year Award (NANBPWC), and a Director Award (Dance the World – Disney).
This program will be run in accordance with New Jersey Department of Health COVID-19 safety guidelines. If required by NJDOH guidelines, registrants should bring their own face coverings. Parents/guardians of minor registrants will need to read and agree to an online COVID-19 legal waiver.
