Students will learn foundational coding concepts such as basic syntax, variable types, conditional logic, loops, lists, and functions by creating a text-based Space Explorer game in Python. They will also use R to build a decision tree model that uncovers the characteristics of Water Pokémon, gaining essential programming skills while exploring the synergy between data, modeling, and real-world applications.
Time: Fridays, beginning May 9–June 13, 5:30–6:30 PM. 6 sessions.

About the Instructor: Daniel Zaremba: A Northwestern University graduate with a Master’s in Data Science. Currently the Director of Risk Strategy & Analytics at First Citizens Bank and an instructor at Gauss Math Academy.
